One of the greatest pianists in the history of jazz, Keith Jarrett combines improvisational genius, a sensual touch and haunting lyricism. Born in 1945, he played with Miles Davis in the late 1960s before leading his own groups. He became a world star thanks to the "Köln Concert", an album of solo improvisation that sold more than 10 million copies. In the 1980s he returned to jazz standards and even recorded classical music.
Keith Jarrett abhorred all distractions during his concerts, including the clicking of photographers. Thanks to her discretion, Dany Gignoux was able to immortalise him in 1986, during a concert by the Jarrett-Peacock-DeJohnette Trio in Lugano.
