Fascinating and impossible to classify, Nina Simone has shaped the history of black American music. As much for her catchy and theatrical songs, between jazz, pop, Bach and gospel, as for her commitment to civil rights.
Dany Gignoux photographed her three times: at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1976, at the New Morning in 1981 and at the Victoria Hall in 1992.
